Morphe Haul

Morphe eyeshadow palettes and Morphe travel brush set on white background

For my birthday, I was lucky enough to get a few Morphe bits that I’ve had my eye on for quite a while. After watching YouTubers like NikkieTutorials and MannyMUA preach about how amazing Morphe palettes and brushes are, I wanted to get some to try and decide for myself.
There were a couple of palettes in particular that I had my eye on, the 35T and the 35O. I tried for ages to grab the 35O, but after missing it several times, I completely gave up. As I write this, I AM STILL WAITING. After coming in and out of stock for about a month, Michala was completely on the ball and spotted that my other coveted 35T palette was back and snapped it up for me as a birthday gift. Dave gave me free rein to order what I wanted for my birthday as a present from him, and I chose a Morphe brush travel set and the 12S Soul of Summer palette.

The delivery from Beauty Bay was really quick and was with me about 48 hours after I ordered. The brushes smell amazing, almost like marzipan, which is great considering most brushes smell god awful when they first arrive. As I tore open the brushes, like an excited child at Christmas, I was gutted to find that one brush was covered in dried orange glue and the Morphe printing was all smudged! It probably isn’t that big of a deal to most people, but it really annoyed the shit out of me. I got in touch with Beauty Bay, and they sent me a similar brush as a replacement, but it obviously doesn’t match the set. It’s annoying, but I’m sure I’ll cope.

I was very pleasantly surprised with both of the palettes. The swatches online always look great, but anyone can load up their finger with a fuck-ton of product and make anything look amazing. The 12S Soul of Summer palette is full of gorgeous shimmery metallic shades, so if you’re looking for mattes this is not the one for you. The 35T is a mix of both matte and shimmer shadows. The pigmentation of these shadows is second to none, and you don’t really need a whole lot of product to build up a really great look.

The 35T clocks in at £19.50 for the palette, and works out at an amazing 55p per shadow. Even if the pigment is disappointing for you, you cannot argue with that in terms of value! It's a great palette for not only makeup beginners trying to establish their skills, but also make-up veterans looking for cheap and cheerful shadows that are easy to work with.

Have you ever used anything by Morphe before? What did you think?

  1. I've only made one Morphe order before and I got a couple eye brushes (which I LOVE) and the 35oshimmer palette! I'm pretty pleased with what I've tried.
