Shipwrecked, Breakout Liverpool

Shipwrecked Breakout Liverpool

At this point, I'd say Dave and I are a little obsessed with escape rooms.

We'd played all but one room (and successfully broken out of 75% of those) in Breakout Liverpool when we made a pretty impromptu decision and decided to go back and make an attempt at the only one we hadn't played - Shipwrecked.

If you aren't familiar with escape rooms, the concept is a pretty simple one. It's an immersive experience, in which you are locked into a themed room for sixty minutes and the only way to escape is to solve all the puzzles. Your game operator goes through basic health and safety, different locks you might encounter, and the story behind your room.

I'm pretty sure the briefing room is a new addition to Breakout Liverpool, because I've only been taken in there for the last two games I've played. It's surprisingly nice and cosy in there, and gives you a little taster of each room, showcasing props from each setting.

It's obviously incredibly difficult to blog about escape rooms without giving anything away, but this was a great yet another offering from Breakout Liverpool. I felt like Jack Sparrow, smashing my way through puzzle after puzzle, sweating my tits off. The heating was on in the room, which is why I'm a sweaty mess in our celebratory photo. We broke out with eight minutes to spare, which is surprisingly less time than we had after Sabotage. I think we got a little cocky with this only being a three star difficulty, because it was definitely harder than I expected!

As always, we had an absolute ball. Breakout Liverpool is a brilliant activity for friends, family, and colleagues alike. If you're brave enough, book more than one room and have a Breakout day! They've just opened three more rooms, so now is as good a time as any to get down there!

Can you break out?
