Changos Burrito Bar, Liverpool

Back during Pride weekend,  Danielle was kind enough to bring me along with her to the newest burrito shack in town - Changos Burrito Bar.

I'm a regular at Barburrito, and a long-term burrito fan if I'm honest, so I'm always excited to see new Mexican eateries in Liverpool.

Changos Burrito Bar opened on Dale Street back in June and became a staple in my diet not long after. Considering we went on Pride weekend, it was eerily quiet in that end of town.

I'll be honest with you here, there's no real way to make a burrito look pretty, so there aren't any actual food photos. If that's what you came here for, then I'm sorry to disappoint.

I loved the decor inside Changos. The level of detail in the wall paintings and the brightness it brings into an otherwise dark and small space is impressive.

The burrito bar itself is downstairs, with the main seating area up a flight of stairs. There is some seating downstairs, but considering the fact the building is old, it wasn't particularly accessible for wheelchair users. I didn't spot a lift in there so I reached out to the Chango's team on Twitter and they confirmed that there is a lift in there, so you should be able to get upstairs to seating.

The food options in Changos are varied and completely customisable. They offer vegan and gluten free options, so there really is something for everyone. I chose a regular Changos Burrito with chicken and virtually every other topping. Unlike most other burrito establishments, you don't have to pay extra for guac. I mean, this hoe is loyal to free guacamole, and if that isn't a game changer, quite frankly I don't know what is. If burritos aren't your thing, they also have nachos and cold, refreshing Jarritos.

I would definitely recommend a visit to Changos Burrito Bar next time you're in that neck of the woods. The portion sizes are not to be sniffed at, and the most expensive item on the menu is only £6.50, for a large slow-cooked beef burrito. In my opinion, they're worth every penny. With this being smack bang in the middle of the business district, I can see this being a perfect lunchtime venue for the many businesses around or a nice little Mexican haven for anyone wanting to add a little spice to their life!

(Disclaimer: I was invited to Chango's Burrito in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own)
