2017 Goal Recap

We're officially hurtling towards the end of 2017, so I thought I'd check in and reflect on the goals I made earlier in the year.

Be smarter with money

I started this year with the best of intentions, and was doing really well until I was made redundant. I ended up in a lot more debt than I ever intended to be. I paid off a catalogue debt, only to replace it with another! The job I have now currently pays a little less than I've been used to, so I'm working on making up the income in other ways. (Hit me up if you wanna pay me to blog for you!)

Continue on the path of recovery

I'm so proud of how well I've done this year, in spite of everything. I've openly talked about my mental health for the first time, finished my CBT, and my relapses have been few and far between. There have been a few incredibly difficult periods, but I've stayed firmly on the path.

Improve my photography

I've practised a lot this year, and like to try and take photos for friends (including Kayleigh and Danielle. I've been to a few workshops to learn new techniques and styles. I'm proud of the way it's going, but I by no means think that my photography is great. There's always room for improvement, and I'd love to continue learning in 2018.

Get more into YouTube

I've posted a few vlogs, but I'm still very much finding my feet. My problem is that I'm so boring, and I struggle to make my videos interesting. Editing isn't as infuriating as it used to be, and I'm very much aware that YouTube is the future when it comes to content, so I definitely have to try harder!

Hold myself accountable

There are a few circumstances that have meant I haven't been able to reach one of my goals, but I've held myself responsible for my own progress. I've worked a lot on my mindset and want to continue to do so.

Some good things happened in 2017, but just like 2016, 2017 has generally been a pile of trash. 2018 is going to be my bitch. Keep an eye out for my 2018 goals, because they're going to be good!
