The Detective Office, Breakout Liverpool

By now you surely must be thinking: "Jesus Christ, another Breakout post?". Yes. Yes it is.

Earlier this year, Breakout Liverpool acquired another floor in their Sir Thomas Street headquarters, allowing them scope for to expand and develop a whopping eight new rooms. They've finished construction on three of them. Vacancy and The Detective Office are the new additions. There are even two rooms for The Detective Office, allowing you to race against friends.

The Detective Office:
In this tale, a young detective has sadly been murdered in his office and you are being framed as his killer. You are on the run and have gained access to his office, the crime scene, for one hour. Can you save yourself by finding out who killed him, why someone killed him and how they killed him?

Difficulty: 3/5

As always, I won't describe the room so I don't ruin any surprises, but this was definitely one of the easier rooms we've played. It was weird, because we seemed to hit a wall about half an hour in, and after we finally broke past, it seemed like we were still miles off. However, literally forty minutes in, we managed to find the code for the door and escaped! We were sure there was a lot to go because the earlier part of the game went really quickly, so it was a shock to finish so quickly.

Since there are two of these rooms, I could imagine this to be absolutely ideal for Christmas parties, hen parties, stag dos, or general Sunday outings. It's a nice introduction into the world of escape rooms, and from there you can ramp it up and maybe even give one of my favourites a go!

If you're still struggling with ideas for your Christmas night out, give your boss a nudge and show them this post! At around £18 a head, it's a fab alternative to those laborious meals that just doesn't please everyone on the team. You know which ones I mean.

  1. I loved it when I went to Breakout. The whole concept made me so excited. I was pregnant when we tried to complete our room and I think baby brain got the better of me so I would love to go back and have an attempt at another room. And anything crime or detective themed just adds to the appeal for me.

    1. I think you should definitely give it another go! Classified is a great one to do too. We should all go as a group!
