Christmas CarnLIVal 2017

Raffle prizes at Christmas Carnlival

Yes, I know it's January, but I'm not quite ready to let go of Christmas yet!

I always have high expectations for CarnLIVal, and Katy and Sam never let me down. Christmas CarnLIVal 2017 is the fifth event I've attended that Katy and Sam have hosted, and they just keep getting better and better. This time around, I even had a (small) hand in organising.

This CarnLIVal was held in the Lady of Mann in Liverpool City Centre, and their Christmas decorations made for the perfect backdrop for this wonderful Christmas get-together. When everyone arrived, the presents were piled high on the raffle table, goodie bags sat snugly beneath the tree, and the tables were dressed lovingly in glitter and condoms.

If you managed to catch my vlog from the last Christmas CarnLIVal, you'll know that I didn't get to enjoy it to the fullest because I was still recovering from my op. This time around, I was able to take in the atmosphere, and catch up with everyone around me. I was surrounded by friends and fellow bloggers, like DanielleJessiHollie, JackieCodie (complete with Christmas tree hair), and loads more lovely people.

CarnLIVal wouldn't have been complete without games, and between catching up and general blogger gossip, we played Pass the Parcel, decorated our own snowflakes, and exchanged Secret Santas. The gift I picked up was a beautiful lightbox and set of bath fizzers from the lovely Hollie.

There's never any budget for CarnLIVal, but the girls always find a way to make sure that not only is the place beautifully decorated, but that the event gives back to the local community. This time around, the money raised in the raffle went to The Abortion Rights Campaign in support of Repeal the 8th. As well as that, everyone that attended brought a small hamper of items to be donated to local rough sleepers. Sleeping on the streets is difficult for anyone, let alone in the freezing weather of Winter, and bringing hats, scarves, and small gifts seemed the perfect way to help them get through it.

I really enjoyed that this CarnLIVal was smaller than most of the previous events. It gave me time to catch up with some friends that I'd normally only speak to on social media, or see at other jampacked events.

As always, the CarnLIVal goodie bags were like nothing I've ever seen. Full to the brim with some incredible brands, including Kat Von D, Primark, Penguin Books, NYX, and many more. Of course, you'll see some of these brands in the coming weeks as I feature them on my blog and other social media. Make sure you don't miss out on these and follow me on Instagram and Twitter.

I'm already looking forward to the next CarnLIVal, and if you ever get a chance to go, make sure you snap it up!

If you liked this, you'll love Easter Carnlival
